Quantum Apex and the 5 driving styles.


Hello to all of you who have made it to my dev log! thanks you for showing an interest in Quantum Apex.

I should probably start by explaining why I made Quantum Apex, I have a long list of games ahead of me and I chose to start with a racing game because in my opinion the genre has gotten slightly stale. I remember playing the very first need for speed game, and I was very take with NFSU2. But since then most racing games have been moving away from split screen play and many other aspects that added to the sense of freedom I am aiming to recapture in Quantum Apex.

I could not settle with the physics of a lot of racing games, And the ones where I could I found myself driving the same cars round the same race tracks as last game. So I made sure you can choose from Simulator, Racing, Drift, Semi arcade and FUN. (full  arcade) I have spent a lot of the time in this project making sure each setting will do what it says it will :)  And I made sure everything you see came straight out of my head, so you wont see it anywhere else.


Most sci fi racers go to far into sci fi for my liking and the cars stop looking and behaving like cars and end up feeling more like scale electrics.

And thus Quantum Apex was born.

Quantum Apex is designed to be the racing game out there that focuses on fun above all else. That's why there are bendy busses and 6 wheeled scoop buggy's. In my opinion if something is to easy to do it reaps little gratification upon completion. So The race tracks are designed to make you think, and not let you just hold the accelerator down all day never expecting anything to go wrong.  some cars are going to have to slow down for some jumps. while other jumps in the later races wont be possible in some vehicles. 

You can practice all of this as well as how to make jumps well in the car skate park!  its filled with Toys, cool routs that lead up above the park and hidden tunnels that take you either side of "The Gap"

I have so many large plans for Quantum Apex some of those plans however will depend on the game generating enough interest to support them.

Here is a list of definite improvements you can look forward to:

The AI could be more challenging :) its in the works.

Constant new cars and race track for free (some planned DLC in future)

Online multi player.

Split screen multi player.

Free roam city map with campaign with hidden upgrade and car shops. City X is inside a huge open top shell and will be a city designed around motorsport.


Car customisation of both appearance and performance (performance will probably come first)

Leader boards for fastest lap times and longest total distance driven etc.

Visual improvements and optimization.
